Frequently asked questions

If your question is not answered here, please just ask, we would rather have the conversation before you book than after.

Booking & registration

Send us your full name exactly as it appears in your passport, your email address and your cell number, together with a copy of your passport photo page. You can send this by email, text message or WhatsApp. We will confirm availability, hold your place and send you the payment details.

As early as you comfortably can. Group departures are capped at around twenty guests and the popular ones fill months ahead. Booking early also protects you from airfare increases, which are the single largest cause of price rises on any tour.

Yes. A deposit secures your place and the balance is due before departure. The exact amounts and dates vary by tour, so we confirm them in writing when we hold your booking.

Certainly, and many of our guests do. You will be travelling with a small group of like-minded people. If you are happy to share a room we will do our best to pair you with another solo traveller of the same gender; otherwise the single supplement applies.

Our pricing is based on a minimum of ten adults travelling. If a departure falls below that we will either apply a small surcharge, which we always discuss with you first, or offer you a transfer to another date or a full refund of what you have paid.

Yes. We provide international air tickets whenever they are needed. Tell us your departure city and we will quote flights alongside the tour.

Halal & religious matters

Yes. Every meal included in one of our tours is halal, without exception. We use halal restaurants throughout and, where a destination makes that genuinely difficult, we arrange vegetarian or seafood alternatives rather than compromise.

Prayer is planned into the day rather than fitted around it. Our tour leaders build the driving and sightseeing schedule around prayer times, and stop somewhere suitable rather than at the roadside wherever that is possible. In cities we pray at the local masjid, which is often part of the visit itself.

Some do, where they are a genuine part of the history of a place, the Ben Ezra Synagogue in Old Cairo, for example, or the churches of the Balkans. These are always presented as history, and any visit of this kind is optional.

Yes. Our group tours travel with an English-speaking Muslim guide or tour leader for the full duration, not just for parts of it. They know the religious history of the sites and understand what the group needs day to day.

Our groups are families, couples and solo travellers together. Rooms are allocated by family or, for solo travellers who wish to share, by gender. We never place unrelated men and women in the same room.

Visas & passports

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date you return. This is the single most common reason travellers are refused boarding, so please check it as soon as you book rather than in the week before departure.

We tell you exactly which visas you need for your nationality and what each one requires, and we provide the supporting documents such as hotel bookings and itineraries. The application itself is made by you, since most countries now require the traveller to apply in person or online.

No. Visa fees and any border or exit taxes are paid by the traveller and are listed under what is not included on each tour page.

Not for any of the destinations we operate. Requirements differ by destination, some are visa-free, some are visa-on-arrival and some need an application in advance, and we will confirm exactly what applies to you when you book.

That is common among our travellers and it is not a difficulty, but requirements can differ considerably. Tell us which passport you hold when you inquire and we will check the position for your specific tour before you commit.

Payments & pricing

Tour prices are based on two people sharing a room. If you would like a room to yourself, the single supplement covers the cost of the unshared room for the whole trip. The amount is stated on each tour page.

No. Airfare is quoted and invoiced separately, which lets you depart from whichever city suits you and use miles or a preferred airline if you wish. We are glad to arrange the ticket for you.

Airfares rise as a departure approaches and continue rising until the ticket is actually issued. On a long-haul route the difference between booking early and booking late is frequently several hundred dollars per person.

The land portion of your tour is fixed once you have booked, with one exception: if a departure falls below the minimum of ten adults, a surcharge may apply. We would always discuss that with you before applying it.

Typically international airfare, visa fees, travel insurance, lunches unless stated otherwise, personal expenses, and tips for guides and drivers. Every tour page lists exactly what is and is not included for that specific trip.

Roughly six US dollars per person per day for the guide and driver is customary on our European and Moroccan tours. It varies by destination and we will give you clear guidance before you travel.

We do not sell insurance, but we strongly recommend you arrange it independently, and to do so at the time you book rather than later, most policies only cover cancellation from the date of purchase.

On the tour

Between ten and twenty guests. That is small enough that the group eats together and the guide knows everyone by name, and large enough to keep the tour affordable.

Four-star and five-star properties, centrally located wherever possible so that you are not spending your free time travelling in and out of the city.

They travel with the group for the whole tour. They manage the logistics, handle check-ins and entrance tickets, plan the day around prayer times, deal with anything that goes wrong, and are the person you call at any hour if you need something.

Many of our guests are in their sixties and seventies. The itineraries are deliberately paced with that in mind. Some sites, Petra in particular, involve substantial walking on uneven ground, and we will tell you honestly which days are demanding so you can plan.

Please tell us before you book. Some sites can be adapted and some genuinely cannot, and we would far rather have that conversation in advance than have you arrive and be disappointed. We will give you a frank assessment tour by tour.

Yes, and families travel with us regularly. Destinations such as the UAE, Malaysia and Turkey suit younger children particularly well. Tell us their ages when you inquire and we will advise.

Every itinerary includes free time, and the longer tours include at least one completely free day. Sightseeing is not compulsory, if you would rather rest, rest.

Occasionally a programme must be adjusted for operational, weather or safety reasons. We would always substitute something of comparable value and explain why. Your safety comes before the itinerary, in every case.

All the hotels we use provide Wi-Fi. For mobile data, an international roaming package from your home provider or a local eSIM both work well; we can advise on the better option for each destination.

Umrah

Yes. Our private Umrah package runs at any time of year, for any number of people, and is arranged entirely around your dates rather than a fixed group departure.

A two to five minute walk, in both Makkah and Madinah. That distance matters more than almost anything else in the booking, particularly for older travellers, because it means you can return to your room between prayers.

A guide to accompany you through the rites is available and entirely optional. Many families travelling for the first time find it reassuring; those who have performed Umrah before often prefer to go on their own.

You can choose breakfast only, or full board. We will talk you through which makes more sense given where you are staying and how long you are there.

Yes, all airport and train station transfers, in private vehicles used only by your group. That includes the Haramain high-speed train between Makkah and Madinah where you are using it.

Yes. Tell us your departure city and we will quote international air tickets alongside the ground arrangements.

Any number. We arrange these for couples, for individual families, and for extended families travelling together.

Still have a question?

Ask us directly. We answer every inquiry personally, and we will give you a straight answer even when it is not the one that sells a tour.

You will be speaking with Abdul Rub Syed (Shameem).

Travel dates, how many are coming, and anything you would like us to know.

We use your details only to answer your inquiry. We never sell or share them.
